Tour Routes: Hanoi – Sapa – Fansipan – Hanoi.
Tour Duration: 5 days.

Sapa is also renowned for its trekking. With South East Asia’s highest peak, Mt. Fansipan (3,143 m) providing the perfect backdrop for some great trekking routes. This 3 day trek with outdoor camping offers all of the challenges and rewards of any hike. And, at the summit you be one of the few to have reached up and touched the clouds marking the roof of Indochina.

Tour Itinerary

Day 1: Hanoi – Lao Cai – Sapa, hike up to attitude of 2,300m

The Night Before: Transfer from hotel to Hanoi station for boarding the train at 8.30 pm, You will be sharing cabins of AC soft sleepers with 3 other passengers to travel up Lao Cai town.

Today’s Morning:The train arrives in Lao Cai at 6.30 a.m, iExplore tourguide will welcome you by sign reading: iExplre Travel. By car / van, we drive to Sapa in about 1.5 hours.
You will be taken to a restaurant for a morning shower & breakfast in Sapa town.
From Khanh Hai hotel, Transfer by Van/Car to the starting point at Cat Cat-a village of H’mong minority. Cross Linh Ho river then start hiking through the jungle and rain forest and trekking along wild streams along the way. Stop for break and picnic lunch in the middle of evergreen forest. More hike onto the elevation of about 2,300 meters. Local H’mong porters will help us to set up a camping base and put on a fire. Dinner will serve under fire. And overnight in the camps.

Day 2: Trek to second base camp at 2,700m

After our first night on the mountain we set out for the seven-hour trek to our second camp. As we continue on we will pass through primary forest containing giant, centuries old pine trees and expanses of yellow bamboo. Our continuing trek will take us to an altitude of 2,900m, where we will stop for lunch. After lunch we trek downhill to an elevation of 2,700m, where we set up camp for the second night within sight of the summit.

Day 3: Up to the top of the challenge then down to 2,600m

Breakfast and the start the memorable day to the roof of Indochina’s house, The steep path is very challenging as we weave our way through bamboo forest, but the impression of standing on the roof of Vietnam makes the hardship all worthwhile. After picnic lunch and rest at the summit, we descend to our camping place of previous night. Spend some short time on top for lunch and rest then trek down to the base camp on elevation of about 2,600 meters. Shower and clean by a… stream. Camps and fire will be put on again with the helps of our porters. Dinner and overnight in the camps.

Day 4: Back down to Sapa. Overnight in Hotel.

Upon leaving the camping base, we begin walking downhill back to Sapa Town. The steep trail is somewhat arduous but we have a chance to get some fantastic views over the surrounding mountains to the valleys of Hoang Lien Son mountain range. We will get picked up at the head quarter of the Park ranger at Tram Ton pass and transferred back to Sapa town. Cheers for lunch in a restaurant in Sapa. Check in hotel free time to explore the small mountain town and dinner on your own a restaurant. Overnight in a hotel in Sapa town

Day 5: Visit the surroundings of Sapa. Night train back Hanoi (10 hrs on train)

Free day on your own to walk around Sapa town and visit the stunning scenery of the surroundings. You can go up to Ham Rong (Dragon Jaw) Mountain, which is situated right by the town for the bird’s eyes view of Sapa and the surroundings. Or take a 12 km walk down to Lao Chai and Ta Van villages where most beautiful valley with terraced fields of Sapa stretched away in front of your eyes. This is also a great chance for you to meet and to be in contact with colorful minority people of Sapa.
Night train: Leave Sapa at 4.30 pm by Van/car to drive to Lao Cai station for the night train back to Hanoi. Arrive in Hanoi at 5.00 Am in the next morning. Tour ends at Hanoi station (just 15 minutes walk from the center of Hanoi)
