Tour OverviewTour Routes: Saigon (Ho Chi Minh city) – Cai Be – Vinh Long – Can Tho – Chau Doc – Saigon This trip is designed to discover the very best of the Mekong in comfort and style. You will spend 4 days meandering the complex maze of the Mekong Delta giving you insight into the life on the mighty Mekong River and its tributaries. You will be taken along the vast network of canals and tributaries to see how people go about their daily lives. Gliding on the busy waterways we have the opportunity to interact with the local people at the floating markets, eat tropical fruits in lush orchards, look into the art of Bonsai, and ship tea on a typical boathouse and taste the delightful local cuisine. Tour ItineraryDay 1:SaiGon – Vinh Long Bus transfer 2 hrs to MyTho for our boat trip. Late morning drifting down the bustling branches of the Mekong and into the tranquil canals. Sightseeing on island: visit to a traditional mekong delta house & kitchen, have seasonal fruit taste with tea and honey, see local rice wine brewery, wine testing, paddling small sampan along arroyo. Inclusion: Transfer, guide, bicycle, entrance fee, local boat, seasonal fruits, lunch, dinner and hotel Day 2: Vinh Long – Can ThoCycling 1/2 hour under natural green canopy to the ferry crossing for Vinh Long. Then we have much more ride to CanTho. Depends on group cycling ability, our guide will tailor a special route for this day: passing villages of brick kiln, terracotta and pottery kiln or riding on immense rice fields, cycling through numerous rural riverside villages. Inclusion: Transfer, guide, bicycle, entrance fee, all meals, local boat and hotel Day 3: Can Tho – Chau Doc.Early morning boat trip to CaiRang floating market & cruise in natural waterways before turning up a quiet canal and mounting our bikes for a ride 3 hrs along a country road, enjoying the beautiful Delta scenery and meeting the locals (many on bicycle too). Continue biking to OMon and the ThotNot Stork Sanctuary. Lunch break in LongXuyen. Inclusion: Transfer, guide, bicycle, entrance fee, all meals, local boat and hotel Day 4: Chau Doc – SaiGonUp early for a boat through the amazing riverside market with all its bustling activity and smorgasbord of sounds, colors and smells. Then we cruise through the fish-farm village producing tons and tons of fish beneath hundreds of floating homes. Discover the ethnic Cham village with its famous Mubarak Mosque and observe local women at their traditional weaving. Then we have bus transfer to Longxuyen for our ride to Cao lanh, lunch en route. Late afternoon we take bus drive the busy highway#1 back to Saigon. Inclusion: Transfer, guide, entrance fee, breakfast, lunch, boat.
