By road from your hotel to the Hooc Mon District to visit the Cu Chi Tunnels, which is 70 kilometers North West of downtown Ho Chi Minh City. The Cu Chi Tunnels system was created around 1948 to assist Viet Minh in their combat with the French. Building continued over the next 25years until it was an underground city with living areas, kitchens, storage, weapons factories, field hospitals, command centers.
